LA Wildfire Relief Drive
In January 2025, Los Angeles faced devastating wildfires, notably the Palisades and Eaton fires, which ignited on January 7. These fires were fueled by severe drought conditions and powerful Santa Ana winds, with gusts reaching up to 100 miles per hour. Collectively, they scorched over 37,000 acres, destroyed more than 16,000 structures, and resulted in at least 29 fatalities. The Palisades Fire ravaged areas including Pacific Palisades, Topanga, and Malibu, while the Eaton Fire caused significant damage in Altadena and Pasadena. By January 31, both fires were fully contained. The aftermath left thousands displaced and highlighted the challenges of urban planning in wildfire-prone regions.
In 2023, Eclipse Optics, formerly Eclipse Glasses USA, launched a donation drive to support the Maui Food Bank. This initiative aimed to aid the people of Maui as they recovered from devastating wildfires that swept across the island.
As part of the campaign, we pledged to match 100% of the donations made toward the food bank, ensuring critical resources like food, water, and supplies reach those in need. We made our 100% matched donation to the Maui Food Bank in April 2024.
This drive and the one before it are part of Eclipse Optics's broader commitment to making a positive impact and giving back to communities in times of crisis. By supporting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, you are helping to provide hope and sustenance to thousands of families during their recovery.
If you'd like to support this initiative, you can participate by selecting a donation amount on the cart page just before checkout.
